I traveled to southwestern Bolivia in 2011 with photographers. Our major goal was the world's largest salt flat - the Uyuni salt flat. We got there by driving in four-wheel vehicles from northern Chile. In Chile we saw many flamingos and other interesting scenes - they are posted under "Chile" in this site.
